West Sacramento Police Officers Association

The WSPOA (West Sacramento Police Officers Association) represents the men and women who work as the West Sacramento Police Department. Police Sergeants, Police Officers, Code Enforcement Officers, Crime Scene Investigators, Police Records Technicians, Property and Evidence Technicians and Community Service Officers are all members of this association. We are the rank-and-file police union that negotiates for these public safety employees for their wages, benefits and working conditions. Below you can learn a little more about us.

MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION: The WSPOA has various membership categories, which include active, associate, retired, honorary and reserve. To become a member, you must be a current dues paying member and in good standing with the WSPOA.

OFFICERS / BOARD / STAFF: The WSPOA, as a California non-profit corporation and recognized with a 501(c)(5) tax-exempt status, has a Board of Directors, which manages the affairs of the WSPOA membership in accordance with statute and WSPOA Bylaws. The Board of Directors includes the elected corporate officers of President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and two Members at Large.

BUSINESS MEETINGS: The WSPOA conducts its business at periodic meetings open to the general membership (except for some confidential sessions to discuss priviledged discpline or corporate information). The Board of Directors has monthly meetings, while the General Membership have access to the annual meeting at the end of the year the year. The Executive Board and various WSPOA Committees also meet to conduct business on behalf of the Board of Directors. Each formal meeting has minutes recorded by the WSPOA Secretary as required by law.
